sweet and sour sauce
Everyone's got their favorite version, but here's my recipe for the tasty classic red sauce that's both a little sweet and a little sour. Use it with sweet 'n sour entrees or as a dip for appetizers (egg rolls, won ton, etc.).
Makes 1 cup
1/4 Cup Ketchup
1/4 Cup Rice wine vinegar
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
Combine all the ingredients
in a saucepan. Bring to a
boil, then reduce heat and
simmer for 45 minutes.
The sauce can be used with
any recipe requiring a sweet
& sour sauce, or it can be
used as a dipping sauce
(serve warmed for dipping).
